چکیده
The contact toxicity activity of an essential oil extracted from Acorus calamus (L.) (Acoraceae) was evaluated against the phytophagous spider mites Tetranychus urticae Koch and macfarlanei Baker & Pritchard (Acari: Tetranychidae) predatory mite Amblyseius longispinosus (Evans) Phytoseiidae). Adult mortality 24 h following application 5% (v/v) concentration exceeded 90% for T. macfarlanei. Application 1.2–5% concentrations to eggs reduced egg viability, with 0–54% hatch 0% 6 d treatment. At 2.5%, toxic A. longipinosus by residual (58% mortality) direct (0% mortality). No 47.6 were oviposited toxicity, respectively. chemical constituents oil, as determined gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, showed that camphor (41.07%) 5,5-dimethyl-2-ethynylcyclopent-2-en-1-ol (27.96%) major compounds oil. These results indicate this fresh rhizomes could prove useful in controlling Our findings also had no deleterious effects test; however, consuming treated negatively impacted.

two-spotted spider mite, tetranychus urticae koch (acari: tetranychidae), is one of the most injurious pests of fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants worldwide, both outdoor and indoors. currently the main method of control of this pest is through application of pesticides which is mostly accompanied by the resistance of the pest against pesticide(s). the resurgence of resistant mite populat...

Botanical compounds with insecticidal and acaricidal activities have been used in pest management with different levels of success. Toxicity of ethanolic extracts obtained from wild oregano (Lippia origanoides) and gliricidia (Gliricidia sepium) to Tetranychus cinnabarinus (Boisduval) were evaluated. Mite population was collected from black bean plants growing in Urachiche Municipality, Yaracuy...
متن کاملComparative toxicity of Rosmarinus officinalis L. essential oil and blends of its major constituents against Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) on two different host plants.
Bioassays of Rosmarinus officinalis L. essential oil and blends of its major constituents were conducted using host-specific strains of the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, on bean and tomato plants. Two constituents tested individually against a bean host strain and five constituents tested individually against a tomato host strain accounted for most of the toxicity of the na...

to introduce ecologically safe acaricide, effects of essential oils derived from cuminum cyminum (cumin), syzygium aromaticum (clove), and mentha spicata (spearmint) were determined on tetranychus urticae at 25±1◦c, 65±5% rh and a photoperiod of 16:8 (l:d) hour. the essential oils extracted by hydro-distillation were characterized by means of gc and gc–ms. bioassays were performed by filter pap...
